Food Farm Gardens

Sint Maarten, a new era is about to begin!

After years of vision, planning, and community collaboration, Food Farm Gardens (FFG) is thrilled to announce the official launch of our Community Garden and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program at historic Plantation Succour, starting January 2026. This is more than a garden—this is a movement for food sovereignty, resilience, and hope for every resident of our island.

Why This Community Garden is a Game-Changer for Sint Maarten

For decades, Sint Maarten has depended on imported food—leaving us vulnerable to high prices, supply chain disruptions, and empty shelves after storms. FFG’s community garden is the largest and most inclusive initiative of its kind in our region, offering affordable plots, education, and fresh, local produce to families, schools, organizations, and aspiring farmers alike.

This is a park, a classroom, a marketplace, and a sanctuary all in one.

  • Affordable allotments: Rent a plot and grow your own healthy, chemical-free food
  • Weekly veggie boxes: Join our CSA for a share of the harvest—fresh, seasonal, and local
  • Workshops & support: Learn composting, organic gardening, and more through hands-on guidance
  • Market access: Farmers get priority at The Keys Market and on the Caribbean Impact Market (CIM)- https://caribimpact.market
  • All ages & backgrounds welcome: From beginners to seasoned growers, everyone belongs here

The Benefits: For Every Age, Every Family, Every Community

Children – Engage with nature, learn where food comes from, and develop lifelong healthy habits – School field trips and hands-on learning make education fun and meaningful

Teenagers – Build teamwork, leadership, and practical skills – Gain confidence and a sense of purpose through real-world experience – Safe, positive space for youth to grow and connect

Young Adults – Launch agri-businesses, participate in the CSA, or gain skills for green careers – FFG is a launchpad for entrepreneurship, innovation, and climate action

Adults – Save money, reduce stress, and connect with neighbors – Share knowledge, harvests, and a sense of purpose – Practical workshops for home gardening, composting, and sustainable living

Seniors – Stay active and engaged while sharing wisdom with younger generations – Enjoy the therapeutic benefits of gardening and being outdoors – Belong to a supportive, intergenerational community

Why Community Gardens Matter – And Why FFG Sets the Standard

  • Food Security: We break the cycle of import dependency, ensuring fresh food is always within reach—even after hurricanes.
  • Community Resilience: Neighbors support each other from planting to harvest, building bonds that last.
  • Economic Opportunity: Local farmers and entrepreneurs gain access to new markets and support.
  • Environmental Impact: Together, we reduce waste, restore the land, and create a greener, healthier Sint Maarten.
  • Education for All: Our HAICI program means everyone can learn—from schoolchildren to retirees.
  • Heritage Restoration: Reviving Plantation Succour honors the labor and wisdom of our ancestors, turning the land into a living classroom.

This is not just a garden. This is Sint Maarten’s future—rooted in community, sustainability, and pride.

Setting an Example: A Message to Landowners

Food Farm Gardens proves that large-scale community gardening is possible—and powerful. If you own land, big or small, we encourage you to follow this example. Imagine the impact if more landowners opened their gates to community food production! Together, we can transform Sint Maarten’s landscape, empower our people, and secure our food future for generations to come.
