Heritage Preservation Director - Cultural Programs and Site Protection
Description

Develop and implement programs that preserve Caribbean agricultural heritage while protecting culturally significant sites within the community garden network.

Responsibilities
  • Design heritage education programs for community members
  • Document traditional farming methods and seed varieties
  • Coordinate with cultural organizations and elders
  • Develop interpretive materials for garden sites
  • Organize cultural events and workshops
  • Ensure respectful integration of heritage elements in garden design
  • Collaborate with local historians and cultural practitioners
  • Oversee preservation of historical plantation sites and artifacts
Qualifications
  • Background in cultural preservation, anthropology, or related field
  • Deep knowledge of Caribbean agricultural traditions
  • Experience in community education and programming
  • Strong connections to local cultural communities
  • Bilingual capabilities (English, Dutch, Papiamento)
  • Passion for preserving cultural heritage
