Position title
Board Chair - Strategic Leadership and Community Representation
Description
Lead the Food Farm Gardens Association (FFGA) board in strategic decision-making and serve as the primary community representative for sustainable agriculture initiatives in Sint Maarten.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Chair monthly board meetings and annual general assemblies
- Provide strategic oversight for community garden operations and expansion
- Represent FFGA at community events and stakeholder meetings
- Facilitate partnerships with local government, NGOs, and businesses
- Ensure alignment with Stichting Marlin Yard's mission and values
- Lead crisis management and conflict resolution when needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years leadership experience in non-profit or community organizations
- Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture and community development
- Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch
- Experience with board governance and strategic planning
- Deep connection to the Sint Maarten community
- Availability for 10-15 hours per month
